Make a VGA cord of CAT5 cable
Well the next action to do is solder the wires to the VGA connectors you bought. The best fittings are male ones. But my local radioshack couldn't have em, So he sold me the feminine ones with an male male adapter. Enjoy the bridge for pins 5, 10 additionally 8, Naah it's not too that hard =)
I just finished mine worked well, I worn the extender at 1280x1024 and it did fine.
However I'm from the Philippines, I had a hard time buying DB15 plug and so I decided to cut up an old extra cable that i have. I connected mine to 8 pin female boxes so it more verstile.
I also found an ad version over the net(Determine pic).
But if the cable would be used as a permanent solution this instructable would be a creative way to do it if you can get the proper connectors(Minus the adaptors)
Hey there, Just did this today it really is awesome! Thanks so much for the data. I'm not sure if anyone else has pointed this out, But use a DB9 to RJ45 Modular Adaptor and modify it to work the same way. This way you can use whatever ethernet cable you have laying around in and change lengths whenever you want. You will have to buy an HD15 Male Crimp Housing to use instead of the Serial Housing that offer it as well as cut off the DH Crimp Pins(Successive cable size) And mod it considering DHD Crimp Pins(VGA measured). On the whole, Still, It doesn't take much time and it looks like you bought it at a shop. Thank you!
Halo! What i'm new here. I have something? May be you does help me. I want to operate may LCD monitor through cutting of one of the pin of D sub cable and not the Power source. (In order to stop damaged).
May purpose to this is to Always run the CPU and only Blank the screen if nobody used or force to blank screen to stop users,.
Write: I will used relay to ON/OFF this LCD by discrete control. To opening of contact of 1 of the 15 pins.
My problem is I dont know which pins is i will going to manipulate OFF/ON.

From something Ive read, You is only able to run cat5e up to 295 feet(90m). That's the standard with all the wire with a switch/router/repeater at one end. I don't know how much power output comes from the video out connectors on a videocard but I doubt it would match that of the switch/router/repeater. Anyone have luck with a cable flanked by 50ft and 295 ft?
Amazon has a hdmi to cat 5 convertor that supports full 1080p that statements to work at 100ft. It"Unaggressive" As it just uses the build in power output of your videocard.
You can get rid of the ghosting by impedance matching, But at the penalty of some loss of distinction. As Ethernet sprained pair is 100 ohm impedance, Along with VGA is 75 ohms, Add 24 ohm resistors in series of the guts conductors of the red, The green and the blue video signals where you will feed these to the ethernet cable at every day(Foundation). And at the computer monitor, Again add in tier 3 more 24 ohm resistors, One for the red center conductor of the VGA cable that will feed the computer monitor, Basically green and the blue. I said 24 ohm as definitely closest common standard value they make, And you will be close enough here. As mentioned, You'll get 75% of the contrast on the computer monitor you had before, But you can turn up the contrast control to make up.
To elaborate a small amount on this issue. Basically in the old XP days it was possible to specify any a conclusion for a screen, But with Vista/7 you can only use the answers permitted by your screen(Presumably in order to really prevent damage to your screen). And because cable is missing a few wires windows will detect the screen as Standard Screen and only allow 1024x768 which is no good for modern wide screen TVs/Monitors.
And yet, If you connect a computer to that screen temporarily with a normal VGA cable(Or hiburan interface, dvi), They allow you to"Read carefully" This info from the computer monitor, Save it and then force it on your computer so that you're walking the correct resolution and other settings when you connect your screen with a UTP hacked cable.
